Partial oxidation of propylene and isobutene was performed over avariety of Mo-Te based mixed oxides.Results indicated that catalytic behaviorfor propylene and isobutene was different over the same catalyst.The differ-ence depended on surface acid-base properties of the catalyst.The relation ofsurface acidity to activity/selectivity can be explained on the basis of mecha-nism of oxidation over mixed oxide catalyst.
