新闻工作者应该有想象力,新闻事实中的想象成分应该杜绝。我不同意新闻作品中写进想象成分,却又认为不妨有“泛指”的想象成分。看起来,这是一个矛盾,但矛盾是客观存在,不是我臆想出来的。从缩小这个矛盾出发,是不是可以把新闻作品分为“特指”和“泛指”两个部分。实际上,大部分新闻报道都只有“特指”,并无“泛指”。但是,有一些新闻样式,特别是通讯、特写,除了叙述外,还需要描写,需要提供有关的环境、背景、因果关系等材料,这些东西,无论记者如何努力,都是很难全部找到证据的,那就不妨有若干想象成分。这就是“泛指”。
