In this study, the broth microdilution method was used to study the antibacterial activity of the essential oil of Asiaticus, while the activity of the inhibitor of the population of Asiatic essential oil was evaluated using the purple bacilli as the bacterial model. The results showed that ferulic acid could be used as an inhibitor of food-related microorganisms and population induction. Asiatic essential oil minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of 0.25 mg / m L, can inhibit the growth of all tested bacteria. For Enterobacter sakazakii / Escherichia coli / Salmonella typhimurium / Listeria, the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) values were 0.25, 0.50, 0.48 and 0.48 mg / m L, respectively. In addition, the Ferul oil paper containing 6.25 and 12.5 mg / ml of Lactobacilli significantly inhibited the production of Chromobacterium violaceum pigment, but did not affect the growth of purple bacilli. When the concentration was raised to 25 mg / m L, both inhibit the production of pigments also inhibit bacterial growth. Similarly, all concentrations of avium essential oil inhibited the production of violacein, even at the lowest concentration of 0.13 mg / m L of essential oil, resulting in a reduction of more than 38% in pigment production; concentrations of 0.13, 0.50 and 1.0 mg / m L Of ferulic oil does not affect the viability of purple bacilli, only the highest concentration of 2.0 mg / m L inhibited the growth of bacteria, the number of bacteria in culture after the reduction of 1.37 log CFU / m L. These results indicate that as a new type of population induction inhibitor, asiatic essential oil can effectively affect the population sensing mechanism of purple bacilli.
