Objective: To observe the analgesic effect and adverse reaction (ADR) of fentanyl transdermal patch for moderate to severe cancer pain. Methods: Forty-seven patients with moderate-to-severe cancer pain were randomly divided into two groups. Patients were treated with fentanyl transdermal patch (group A, 24 cases) and morphine sulfate sustained-release tablets (group B, 23 cases) All cases were observed at least 15d, the pain intensity, pain relief and incidence of adverse reactions in both groups were compared. Results: The pain relief rates of patients in group A and group B were 83.33% and 78.26%, respectively (P> 0.05). The incidence of nausea, vomiting and constipation in group A was lower than that in group B (P <0.05). Conclusion: Fentanyl transdermal patch can effectively control moderate to severe cancer pain, and the incidence of nausea, vomiting and constipation is lower.
