Acetylacetone (HAA) is a broad spectrum chelator known to chelate with more than 60 elements due to the fact that oxygen atoms in its molecule easily chelate with various metal elements. However, these chelates are generally poor in thermal stability and column stability and are often difficult to meet the required column temperature requirements for gas chromatographic analysis. Therefore, few commercially available metal-acetylacetone chelates are available for gas chromatographic analysis .
