在近代东北城市体系中,吉林占据十分重要的地位,是具有政治、经济、文化等综合功能的中心城市。民国初年,由于改行县制和经济地位的下降,带来了吉林作为地区性中心城市地位的变迁,吉林县公署在此过程中起到了代行城市职能的作用。随着经济社会的发展,吉林的城市职能也随之发生变化,实现了从单一的政治职能为主向政治、文化、经济职能并重转型。
In modern northeast city system, Jilin occupies a very important position and is a central city with comprehensive functions such as politics, economy and culture. In the early years of the Republic of China, due to the change of county system and the decline of economic status, Jilin Province brought about the change of status as a regional central city. In this process, Jilin County Office played the role of acting city function. Along with the economic and social development, the urban functions of Jilin have also changed. It has realized the transformation from a single political function to an equal emphasis on political, cultural and economic functions.
