Benzypepentenolide is a new antihistamine that has been marketed in the United States in recent years to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Like terfenadine, it is not believed that benperizid will have more sedative effects than placebo, and the new drug has the benefit of being taken on a daily basis.
