The use of images to describe harmonic vibrations is more abstract for middle school students. In my teaching, I found that a large number of classmates could not correctly understand the correspondence between the instantaneous position (displacement) of the vibration and the point on the image. For this reason, this article describes a program (see the attached figure). Running this program, you can see from the screen the instantaneous relationship between the displacement of the pendulum in the vibration and the image that describes the vibration, and you can also arbitrarily place the pendulum at any time.
