奥地利联邦铁路1966年的热轴事故达1600余次,1982年降至109次,其原因是滑动轴承为滚动轴承所取代。但在这109起热轴事故中,有38起是因滚动轴承所造成的,这说明滚动轴承也不能杜绝热轴事故的发生。奥地利联邦铁路于1970年开始在经常发生热轴的区段进行轴温探测器试点。1975年,共设置了六台仪器,这是第一代产品。利用这六台仪器,在1972至1982的11年间共发现322起热轴事故,占这一时期发生的2601件事故的12.4%。与此同时,使用这些仪器还发现了656起因制动机未缓解而造成的轮箍发热现象。
Austrian Federal Railway accident in 1966 more than 1,600 hot shaft, down to 109 times in 1982, the reason is that plain bearings replaced by rolling bearings. However, among the 109 hot shaft accidents, 38 were caused by rolling bearings, which means that rolling bearings can not prevent the occurrence of hot shaft accidents. The Austrian Federal Railroad began piloting a shaft temperature probe in 1970 in the section where the hot shaft often occurs. In 1975, a total of six sets of equipment, this is the first generation of products. Using these six instruments, a total of 322 hot shaft accidents were detected during the 11 years between 1972 and 1982, accounting for 12.4% of the 2601 accidents that occurred during this period. At the same time, the use of these instruments also found that 656 due to the brake did not ease caused by the phenomenon of tire heating.
