Multichannel retailers pose an unprecedented challenge for retailers who want to complete replenishment, online order fulfillment and inventory management with a single system. Fortunately, Musikhaus Thomann successfully found an effective way to cope with multichannel retailing. The town of Treppendorf is home to only about 150 people and Musikhaus Thomann was founded in 1954. In the town’s corporate campus, Thomann owns a 59,201-square-foot Super Instrument Store. On some special Saturday events, over 2,500 musicians and music fans come together. Here, Thomann stores up to 65,000 different types of instruments, accessories and sheet music. In the meantime, the company also serves approximately 4 million online subscribers across Europe, with a total annual turnover of up to 522 million, of which online sales are the most significant
