在泰国曼谷开了两家超市的巴颂先生最近很开心:新年伊始,他的进货成本就降低了好几个百分点。原因只有一个:随着中国-东盟自由贸易区从2010年1月1日建成,很多商品都实现了零关税。巴颂先生的超市里一大半商品都来自于中国,现在,他准备进一步加大采购中国商品的力度。和巴颂先生不同,印尼的建材制造企业主班邦最近比较烦。随着零关税的到来,他担心给中国的廉价建材会对本地的企业带来“毁灭性的打击,”为此,他已经向当地商会要求暂缓取消一些建材商品的关税。但不管如何,从1月1日起,中国-东盟自由贸易区的建成,标志着以中国为坐标的自贸区时代元年开始,标志着一个由11个国家、19亿人口、6万亿美元GDP、4.5万亿美元贸易额组成的自由贸易区步入零关税时代,这必将对亚洲乃至世界贸易格局产生深远影响。零关税意味着包括蔬菜、水果、机电、纺织品和服装等7000多种商品价格将下降。对中国企业而言,机遇和挑战都在加速来临:有人已经用几十万吨蔬菜换回几十万吨汽油;很多连锁超市已经在加大对当地热带水果的采购,当然不少中国南方的水果种植户开始承受更大压力……新南洋时代来了!

For Chinese companies, opportunities and challenges are accelerating: Some people have used hundreds of thousands of tons of vegetables to exchange hundreds of tons of gasoline; many supermarket chains have already stepped up the purchase of local tropical fruits, and certainly many in southern China. Fruit growers are beginning to take more pressure... The new Nanyang era is coming!
