美国《财富》月刊曾经向世界五百家最大工商机构的最高主管人包括总裁、主席发出咨询信,请他们投票选出心目中的模范总裁。其结果得票最多的三位人物均全部属于相同的管理作风。他们分别是GE公司的钟斯、标准石油公司的斯韦灵根和Teledyne机构的辛格尔顿。这三位最杰出的企业家一致认为,将权力下放,分配给副手助手,是完成任务,做好工作的最可靠方法。以明智的态度及判断力将自己职位内的一部分权责派给下属去分担,是领袖人才基本气质之一。对于高级主管人物一句忠告是:永远不要将下属能做妥或做得更好的工作由自己处理。
The U.S. “Fortune” monthly issued an advisory letter to the top executives of the world’s 500 largest industrial and commercial organizations, including the president and chairman, asking them to vote for the model president. As a result, all three people who won the most votes belonged to the same management style. They are GE’s Jones, Standard Oil’s Schweringen, and Teledyne’s Singleton. The three most outstanding entrepreneurs agree that decentralization of power, assigned to assistant assistants, is the most reliable way to accomplish tasks and do a good job. It is one of the basic qualities of a leader’s talent to send part of his duties within the position to subordinates with wise attitude and judgment. One word of caution for senior executives is: never deal with subordinates who can do or do better.
