Objective To understand the level of vitamin A in children aged 0 ~ 5 in Anhui Province and analyze its influencing factors, so as to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of vitamin A deficiency in our province. Methods A total of 105 children under 6 years of age were enrolled in 4 counties in 1 municipality of Anhui Province. The level of vitamin A in children was assessed by micro-fluorescence spectroscopy (SROL). The questionnaire was used to collect the data of family, Diet and other related factors. Results The average level of serum vitamin A in children aged 0 ~ 5 in Anhui Province was 30.36 ± 7.94 μg / dl, which was comparable with the national average of 2000. Serum vitamin A levels in children between rural and urban areas and rural areas were significantly different. The average level of children’s SROL increases with the annual per capita income of the family, the increase in the education of mothers, the increase in the income level of parents, and the increase in the age of children. Children with mixed breastfeeding had the lowest levels of SROL; children with increased intake of vitamin A-rich foods had an increased SROL; children with vitamin A supplementation had higher levels of SROL than non-users. The results of stepwise multivariate linear regression analysis showed that children living in rural areas were still breastfed, with many children and mothers as their peasants. The low level of their father’s education led to the decrease of SROL. Conclusion The level of serum vitamin A is influenced by many factors. Improve the content of vitamin A in breast milk, popularize scientific feeding knowledge, add vitamin A food to children timely, and if necessary, add vitamin A preparation may be more effective in raising the level of vitamin A in children
