The C_2H_2 / He mixture containing 2.5% of acetylene was pyrolyzed in a flow system (with or without hydrogen) at 1132 and 1179 K for carbon deposition. The continuous measurement of carbon rate is achieved as a function of increasing conductivity at the growth of the carbon film. The effluent gas is analyzed at a certain gap for acetylene, ethylene and ethane. Although not directly measured, benzene’s higher aromatics and traces of tar and carbon black are also detected in the effluent gas. The increase in partial pressure of hydrogen in the feed gas leads to a linear increase in the ethylene concentration in the effluent gas at a given temperature (Figure 1), as well as a decrease in the rate of carbon deposition; the latter increases with hydrogen
