高中地理选修课程是在高中地理课程整体设计的基础上开设的,旨在全面推进素质教育,构建一个从学生的全面发展和终身学习出发,体现现代教育理念、反映地理科学发展、适应社会生产和生活需要的高中地理课程。从各地新课程实验的情况看,高中地理选修课程的实施,不同程度地存在课程背景与课程资源地域差异大、学生兴趣关注不够、课程模块多、内容任务重以及高考考查要求不一等情况,学校、教师出现模块选择难、课时紧张以及教学要求不好把握等困惑。
