In the face of growing expense and engineering difficulties of deep submicron design,many communications system designers are searching for ways to cope with the increasing time to market demands of the communications industry.One approach is a platform strategy centered on the creation of a baseline system architecture.The right strategy may be one that targets a fundamentally different system-on-a-chip(SoC)vehicle.The emerging area of configurable SoC(CSoC)technology repesents one such platform strategy with a legitimate potential for effectively overcoming the tangle of deep-submicron challenges.
