患儿男性,年龄40天,1965年5月30日上午11时入院。20天前,患儿开始微热、流涕、轻微咳嗽,以后咳嗽逐日加剧。五天后咳时伴吐乳,十天后转为阵发性痉咳,咳时面红、耳赤、口唇发紫。入院前数天曾因痉咳连续十数声而发生窒息,经当地卫生院治疗好转,以后反复出现类似窒息,经中西医治疗无效。5月30日又出现痉咳窒息达10余分钟尚不见好转而来我院。患儿系第6胎足月顺产,新法接生,病后不久其兄姊五人相继发生同样痉咳,当时该村有百日咳患儿。入院时体温37.0℃脉搏140次/分,呼吸46次/
