Alfredo Leon doesnt like bugs. In the summer, bugs are everywhere! Alfredo is unhappy every summer. There are spiders in the bathroom. There are ants in the kitchen. There are bees in his flower garden. There are moths flying around the lights. There are flies on his food. And there are mosquitoes① inside and outside trying to bite him.
When Alfredo sees a bug, he jumps up and screams. His wife says, “Dont be upset②, Alfredo. Spiders and bees are good. They are important in nature. Dont be afraid. You are big, and they are very small.”
But Alfredo doesnt care. He runs around the house with a newspaper in his hand. He slaps at every bug he sees. He is angry when a fly lands on his sandwich. He is angry when ants crawl inside his kitchen cabinets. And he is very angry when he sees a spider in the shower. Alfredo says, “Get out! This is my shower!” The bugs dont listen to Alfredo. They like his house, but not his newspaper!
