青藏高原成因主流理论认为,印度板块向北俯冲导致青藏高原水平缩短,同时向上抬升。近日,研究人员采用Stampede和Lonestar 4超级计算机进行数据模拟,整合不同类型的地震波反演地球图像。应用地球物理勘探中的全波形反演技术,结合上千个地震观测站的地震记录,精确地对青藏高原下部进行了高分辨率三维层析成像。相关成果发表在近期的《地球物理学研究杂志:固体地球》(Journal of Geophysical Research:
The main reason for the formation of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is that the subduction of India plate north leads to the shortening of the level of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and uplift at the same time. Recently, researchers used Stampede and Lonestar 4 supercomputers to simulate data and integrate different types of seismic waves to retrieve Earth images. Using the full waveform inversion technique in geophysical prospecting, combined with the seismic records of thousands of seismic stations, high-resolution three-dimensional tomography images of the lower part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are precisely made. Relevant results published in the recent “Geophysical Research: Solid Earth” (Journal of Geophysical Research:
