教师作为素质教育的实施者,其本身的素质,包括知识层面、能力层面、品德层面都应当具有较高的水平,即“学为师表,行为世范”。而对于外语教师的素质要求似有其更为特殊之处。外语是跨文化的人文学科。因此,外语教师必须比一般学科的教师具备相应国家的、民族的、文化的、历史的以及政治经济和社会的背景知识,才能更好地把握教材,使学生学得更丰富、更全面。
As the implementer of quality education, teachers themselves should have a higher level of knowledge, including knowledge level, ability level, and moral level, namely “learning as a teacher’s watch, behavior as a world model ”. The quality requirements for foreign language teachers seem to have more special features. Foreign languages are cross-cultural humanities. Therefore, foreign language teachers must possess national, national, cultural, historical and political, economic, and social background knowledge than teachers of the general discipline in order to better grasp the teaching materials and make students learn more and more comprehensively.
