As an important source of energy and resources, petroleum is widely used in all walks of life and is praised as “black gold” and “economic blood” of the economy and the society as a whole. Before the advent of the oil futures in 1973, international oil prices had been around $ 3 a barrel. In the past 30 years, the international oil price has risen all the way. In July 2006, it even reached a price of 78 U.S. dollars per barrel. The drastic fluctuations in oil prices have changed the political and economic situation in the world. In particular, the impact on the world economy has become increasingly prominent. As an important member of the economic development in today’s world, our country is increasingly associated with the world economy. With the rapid economic development in our country, the demand for petroleum has been increased, and the dependence on petroleum abroad has been steadily rising. This inevitably will be affected by the rise in international oil prices. Therefore, a careful analysis of the impact of the international oil price hikes on the world economy and the Chinese economy and the concrete measures to be taken in our country will have far-reaching significance for China’s economic and social development and national security.
