南坪地处青藏高原东南缘,岷山山脉北段四川西北部。疫区海拔1800～2300米,气候干燥度为半湿润,七、八月份平均气温为19℃,年降雨量700～800mm,无霜期为180天。南坪以前没有发生乙型脑炎的记载和报告。境内有猪、马、羊、犬等家畜。野生动物种类多、数量大,有蚊虫及其它节肢动物。8月中旬首发1例,20～29日发生3例,均为女性,藏族,年龄10～32岁,且3例同住沙坝村。先后到过九寨沟口,活动范围仅15公里。无接种乙脑疫苗史,送检血清一份效价为1:320。临床分为轻型1例、中型1例、
Nanping is located in the southeastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, northern Min Mountain range northwest of Sichuan.
