勤俭建军既是人民解放军一条重要的建军方针,也是人民解放军的优良传统。朱德作为人民解放军的缔造者和领导者之一,不论革命战争年代还是和平建设时期,都倡导勤俭建军。其勤俭建军思想的主要内容有:开源节流,建立和管好军队的“家务”;爱护指战员的生命,爱惜民力,遇事走群众路线;加强教育,严格经费使用制度,严肃纪律;干部模范带头,与士兵同甘共苦;搞好质量,严格编制,克服困难谋发展。
