20世纪50、60年代间,美国经济飞速发展,城市建设迅猛,市郊道路的大量兴建使汽车成为首要交通工具,人们逐渐由城市向郊区迁徙,简·雅各布斯(Jane Jacobs)通过细致的观察和敏锐的洞察力,对当时美国城市的发展存在的问题进行透彻地剖析,并于1961年出版了知名著作《美国大城市的死与生》,书中她以独特的见解提出了城市多样性理论。本文尝试通过对雅各布斯城市多样性理论的解析,力求揭示城市多样性理论在现代城市建设中的适应性与演变,进而说明雅各布斯城市多样性思想对现代城市建设的现实指导意义。
During the 1950s and 1960s, with the rapid economic development in the United States and the rapid urban construction, a large number of suburban roads were built with cars becoming the primary means of transport. People gradually moved from the cities to the suburbs. Jane Jacobs, through meticulous Observations and keen insight, thorough analysis of the problems existing in the development of the American cities at that time, and in 1961 published the famous book “The Death and Life of the American Metropolis,” in which she presented a unique perspective of urban diversity Sex theory. This paper tries to reveal the adaptability and evolution of urban diversity theory in the construction of modern city through the analysis of Jacobs’ theory of urban diversity, and then illustrates the real guiding significance of Jacob’s urban diversity theory to modern urban construction .
