语言作为人类不可分的一部分,渗入了人类的思想和世界观,即表达了文化。另一方面,语言作为文化的产物,也有助于文化的恒定。人们的语用行为受制于他们各自的文化背景,由于语用中的文化差异的存在,在跨文化交际中,人们往往因使用的外语不符合本民族的文化传统,而无法实现预期的交际。作为英语学习者,我们只有通过对比中西文化的不同,找出英语语用失误中的文化根源,才能解决跨文化交际中遇到的困难,减少语用失误。
As an inseparable part of human beings, language permeates the human mind and worldview, that is, the expression of culture. On the other hand, language as a product of culture also contributes to the constant culture. People’s pragmatic behavior is subject to their own cultural background. Due to the cultural differences in pragmatics, people often do not achieve the expected communication because of the foreign language used in their intercultural communication. As an English learner, we can find out the cultural roots of English pragmatic failure by comparing the different cultures of East and West, so as to solve the difficulties encountered in intercultural communication and reduce the pragmatic failures.
