First, General Secretary Jiang Zemin inspected the Yellow River and presided over a symposium on governance and development of the Yellow River. From June 17 to June 24, General Secretary Jiang Zemin, standing on the scorching sun, started his Hukou start at the middle reaches and finally arrived at the mouth of Dongying at a distance of several thousand kilometers to visit the Yellow River. June 21 in Zhengzhou presided over the Yellow River governance and development work forum. In his speech, he pointed out that it is of great strategic significance to govern the water scarcity of the Yellow River and make good use of the Yellow River water resources in order to realize the grand blueprint for cross-century development of our country’s modernization.
