1922年5月至1924年11月,阮啸仙担任中国社会主义青年团广东区委书记。在两年半时间里,阮啸仙能够以马克思主义理论为指导,创造性地开展青年工作,努力增强青年团的战斗力,使团员和青年紧紧地团结在中国共产党的周围,保证了大革命时期党的方针路线的贯彻执行。阮啸仙尝试着把青年运动与工人运动、农民运动、统一战线工作相结合,为把马克思主义的一般原理与中国社会的实际情况相结合,探索中国新民主主义革命的道路,作出了积极的贡献。
