本文通過引入語序類型學上的話題優先和主語優先特徵差異,追溯了英語主語優先類型特徵的歷史根源。文章認爲,由於從古英語到中古英語和現代英語的SVO型語序的逐漸固化,爲迎合主語固有的表達主觀性、强施事性和對事件控制性的語用需求,産生了系列語法變化:情態動詞的發展、do和have的助動詞化,後者反過來固化了主語的位置,使英語的主語突出型特徵越發明顯。而由於漢語中没有發生類似的語法變化,依然維持著較强的話題突出特徵。
In this paper, by introducing the topic-type typology priority and subject priority feature differences, the tracing back to the history of English subject priority type features.
