In the past decade, research on cell cycle has progressed rapidly. Cell cycle is regulated by cyclin depend kinases (CDKs). CDKs are activated by cyclin, of which cyclin acts as a regulatory subunit and CDKs as a catalytic subunit. The cyclin-CDKs complex has a positive regulative effect on the cell cycle and promotes cell division.
