不少艺术家对科学感兴趣,有的兴致高时会特意为某个科学话题进行创作。上海交通大学的李政道图书馆收藏了一批国内的科艺作品,主要为画作(http://www.tdleelib.info/pageinfo.do?dotype=ky)。现代意义上的科学源于西方。得益于此,有关科学的西方艺术作品较多,种类也丰富。例如,美国公共广播电台有个节目主持人Garrison Keillor是美国艺术和科学院的院士,他曾经写了一首歌,由著名乡村歌手Brad Paisley在节目里演唱:
