People always think that the seeds soaked can speed up germination, but in fact it does more harm than good. Normally, after the seeds are sowed, water is drawn from the soil to form a root tip, which breaks through a small hole in the seed coat to allow the seedlings to freely stretch and grow. However, if the seeds are soaked or the soil is too wet, the seeds will absorb water too quickly and the seed coat will burst. Amino acids, proteins and sugars penetrate the soil through these cracks. They nourish pathogenic fungi in the soil and sensitize young, vulnerable seedlings. This problem is even greater for cereals and legumes, and even if the seed is not soaked, if the seed is sown in wet soil or after sowing
