邓小平不能在1997年主权移交后来香港看一看,成为香港人民的遗憾,也是这位一代伟人平生的一大遗憾。 邓小平遗憾的,并非是因为他从没来过香港,邓小平其实已经去过5趟香港。 邓小平第一次踏足香港,是在1920年。16岁的邓小平当时离开了四川的广安县,与80多个青年一起于9月11日从上海登船前往法国,展开他在法国5年的“勤工俭学”里程。途中,这艘船在香港靠岸,邓小平第一次看到了香港。

Deng Xiaoping set foot in Hong Kong for the first time in 1920. At the time, Deng Xiaoping, 16, left Guang’an County, Sichuan Province, and embarked on a boat trip to Shanghai from Shanghai with more than 80 young people on September 11 to launch his “work-study program” for five years in France. En route, the ship docked in Hong Kong, Deng Xiaoping first saw Hong Kong.
