In April 2014, members of Editorial Department of “Modern Physical Science” visited Mr. Li Yinyuan, a senior academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. At the invitation of the editorial department to organize a special issue of the International Year of Crystallography, Li 95, who is 95 years old, reviewed the situation of a lithium iodate crystal growth led by him in the 1970s and recounted his youthful experience in studying and retiring Poetry and other hobbies. Li Yinyuan, physicist, born in June 1919 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. In 1943 graduated from Southwest United University Department of physics. He obtained a master’s degree from Washington State University in 1948, a doctorate from Illinois State University in 1951, and stayed in school for a year after his postdoctoral fellowship. Appropriate value The outbreak of the Korean War was banned from returning home, then went to the United States Westinghouse Magnetic Laboratory and Carnegie Institute of Metal Research for research. In 1955, the agreement between China and the United States and Geneva began to come back to the motherland. As a researcher at Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (then called Institute of Applied Physics), he initially worked in the magnetism group. After 1960, he served as director of solid theory room, director of crystallography room, deputy director, director of academic committee, standing director of Chinese Physics Society, executive vice president of “Chinese Journal of Physics”, and founded the “China Physical Express.” In 1980 was elected as a member of Mathematical Sciences (later renamed academician). Mr. Li Yinyuan is one of pioneers in the study of solid state physics in China. We devote ourselves to the statistical theory of alloy and magnetism, the study of oxide magnetic structure, neutron diffraction and structure, high-order Raman scattering and its application. We foresee, discover and explain the specific properties of quasi-one-dimensional ion conductors and the theory of spinacoustic. In the early 1960s, he foresaw the great prospect of laser technology and carried out leading work in relevant research fields. Afterwards, he cooperated with both inside and outside the unit in “Cultural Revolution” Laser frequency doubler crystal a lithium iodate, and achieved outstanding results, for domestic and foreign scholars attention. Mr. Lee Yam-wan has a wide range of interests. In recent years, he has been able to open up his blog online and blog his timelessly fresh and unconventional. When he was young, he was fond of literature. He once received a job in the poet He Qifang and retired to study the new poem published after 1945. When he was parting, he presented us with a book entitled “A New Edition of Contemporary Poetry” compiled by him.
