“文革”故事是美籍华人作家严歌苓最为热衷的题材之一。由于对文学作品的独创性始终怀有近乎“疯狂”般的热情和自觉,加之身居海外,可以尽力摆脱诸多外在条件的限制,严歌苓的“文革”叙述与中国本土作品相比具备不少独特性,诸如悬置先验性的政治审判、在极度苦难的故事中楔入温情的艺术元素、勇于对本为无辜者甚至受害者的自我进行反思、解剖和批判,等等。凡此种种,都构成了“文革”叙述的丰富性,甚至直接提供了“文革”书写的另一种可能,为本土文学带来了一定的启示。
“Cultural Revolution ” story is one of the most enthusiastic subject of American Chinese writer Yan Geling. All these forms constitute the richness of the “Cultural Revolution” narration, and even directly provide another possibility for the “Cultural Revolution” writing, bringing some enlightenment to the native literature.
