抗战时期在昆明组建的西南联大,为推动国统区民主运动作出了卓越贡献,被誉为“大后方的民主堡垒”。“民主堡垒”是中国共产党的领导、知识分子的良知与民盟的推动、学校自身的民主传统以及云南地方势力对民主力量宽容等众多因素综合作用的结果。其中中国共产党制定的正确的学运方针和统战政策,基层党组织长期艰苦工作是堡垒形成的最根本原因。
The Southwest United University, which was established during the war of resistance against Japan in Kunming, made outstanding contributions to the promotion of the democratic movements in the Kuomintang area and was hailed as “the stronghold of democracy in the rear area.” The “fortress of democracy” is the result of a combination of many factors such as the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the conscience of the intellectuals and the promotion of the NLD, the democratic tradition of the school itself, and the tolerance of the local forces in Yunnan towards the democratic forces. Among them, the correct guiding principles for the academic movement and the United Front formulated by the CPC and the long-term hard work of grass-roots party organizations are the most fundamental reasons for the formation of the fort.
