ISDN ISDN connection points, whether basic or primary, are not growing as fast as expected. In many countries, the commercial integrated services digital network has been deferred for practical purposes. Therefore, ISDN may only be approved by a small number of former users, while many users are suspicious of ISDN and its role. Implementation and tax issues may make ISDN not completely replace existing networks. In the market more marketable will be dedicated networks connected with the general support network. Although the situation will change slowly, ISDN equipment is difficult to buy and expensive. France is the largest ISDN installation base in Western Europe. By 1996, the basic connection point will rise to 515000 and the primary connection point to 18400.
