我县泥灰岩属于奥陶纪的紫红色、青灰色泥(粉)晶生物屑泥质灰岩。总面积达二十余万亩。通过第二次土壤普查发现,泥灰岩发育的土壤,其理化特征有别于灰岩、页岩发育的土壤,其自然植被的种类也有其特殊之处。
