位于黄骅盆地南部的孔西潜山的前第三系内幕构造十分复杂。通过理论模型分析以及对孔西潜山的地震剖面和探井资料的综合分析后认为 ,孔西潜山的主体部分是由 3~ 4条向东倾斜的铲式或坡坪式逆冲断层组成的“薄皮”叠瓦扇构造 ;卷入变形的地层主要是奥陶系、石炭二叠系 ;逆冲断层在寒武系或更深的地层中收敛合并成为局部的拆离逆冲断层。但是 ,沿着构造带走向逆冲构造样式有明显变化 ,孔西潜山南部表现为逆冲三角构造带。从卷入逆冲构造的地层的地质时代推测 ,逆冲构造主要是在早中三叠世盆地发育之后、侏罗白垩纪盆地形成之前形成的 ,并在早中侏罗世盆地发育过程中又有进一步活动。局部由于受到中、新生代时期的伸展构造和走滑构造的叠加 ,构造样式变得更加复杂。
