语言学大师赵元任这样说过:“各国语言里不同的方面各有难有易;平均说起来么,我觉得中国的语言在世界上,对于没有学过任何语言的小孩子,可以算是中等,也不特别难,也不特别容易。……至于说中国文字方面,在世界上比起来就相当难了。”(见《语言问题》第221页,商务印书馆1980年)应当说,这个具有权威性的科学论断,对于汉语作为外语和第二语言的教学来说也同样是真理。的确,从事对外汉语教学的教师也都有这样的共识:汉字教学,是对外汉语教学中一个突出的难点。怎样有效地进行对外汉字教学,也就成为对外汉语教学和研究所要努力探讨的一个重要课题。现在,我们高兴地看到了对这个课题作探讨所出现的第一个成果-张静贤女士所著《现代汉字教程》(现代出版社,1992年),作为国家汉办规划教材刊行问世了。

As for Chinese writing, it is rather difficult in the world. ”(See“ Language Problems, ”p. 221, Commercial Press, 1980) It should be said that this An authoritative scientific thesis is also true of Chinese as a foreign language and second language. Indeed, teachers engaged in teaching Chinese as a foreign language also share this consensus: teaching Chinese as a foreign language is a prominent difficulty in teaching. How to effectively teach Chinese as a foreign language has also become an important topic to be studied in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Now, we are pleased to see the first achievement of the exploration of this subject - “Modern Chinese Character Course” (Modern Press, 1992) by Ms. Zhang Jingxian, which was published as a national Hanban planning textbook.
