深圳港口群的崛起,推动了特区经济的发展和城市建设。其中深圳市航运总公司在港口建设中也有了进一步的发展,并为特区的发展与建设作出一定的贡献。回顾特区建立初期,深圳还没有一个象样的港口,只有一些小码头,年吞吐量不足10万吨。为满足特区经济的发展和城市建设的需要,1981年11月23日经广东省人民政府批准,成立深圳航运公司。公司的成立正是特区成立两周年的时候,特区城市罗湖区建设轰轰烈烈,城市建设需要大量的河沙、红砖、水泥等建筑材料,而这些建筑材料正为发展内河码头提供了良好的货源基础。当时,深圳航运公司克服了底子薄,经济和技术力量不足等困难,在布吉河与深圳河交汇处建起了年通过能力15万吨的罗湖货运内河码头。这极大地方便了罗湖区城市建设所需要的日用工业品、粮食、农付产品、建筑材料的输入。

At that time, Shenzhen Shipping Company overcame the difficulties of having the slightest foundation and the lack of economic and technological strength. It built a 150,000-tonne-a-year Lo Wu cargo inland river terminal at the junction of the Phuket and Shenzhen Rivers. This greatly facilitates the urban construction of Luohu District, the daily necessities, food, agricultural products, building materials input.
