近几十年来,中国大学英语教学发生了翻天覆地的变化,各种各样的教学理论被引入大学英语教学中。然而,作为一门必修课程,大学英语课却面临来自学生、教师及社会的种种批评和质疑,主要问题是大学英语教学效率低下。我们有必要弄清楚为什么学生花了如此之多的时间、精力和金钱学习英语,但是用英语交流时还是不知所措。英语教学和英语学习并不是件简单的事,涉及一系列复杂的相关因素。本文旨在讨论造成中国大学英语教学效率低下的因素,如:教育理念、教材的选用、教师的素质及学生动机,让人们对问题有清楚的认识。只有这样,才能采取恰当的措施提高中国大学英语教学的质量和效率。
In recent decades, the Chinese college English teaching has undergone tremendous changes, a variety of teaching theory was introduced into college English teaching. However, as a compulsory course, college English classes are facing various criticisms and questions from students, teachers and the society. The main problem is the inefficient college English teaching. It is necessary for us to understand why students spend so much time, energy and money learning English, but they still do not know what to do when communicating in English. Teaching English and learning English is not a simple matter, involving a complex set of related factors. This article aims to discuss the factors that contribute to the inefficiency of college English teaching in China, such as the concept of education, the selection of teaching materials, the quality of teachers and the motivation of students so that people have a clear understanding of the problems. Only in this way can we take appropriate measures to improve the quality and efficiency of college English teaching in China.
