The Japan Industrial Goods Expo, sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Foreign Affairs will be held in Moscow in November this year. The Soviet Union tried to get microprocessors, numerically controlled machine tools and various other technologies from Japan. The Japanese side has released 14 technical lists of interest to the Soviet Union as part of the Expo’s plan. The Soviet State Planning Commission believes that these technologies are necessary to achieve industrial modernization and increase industrial productivity.
