The seeds of tomato and Asparagus were placed in polyethylene glycol 8000 (PEG), artificial sea water (INO) or C_a ~ (+2), K ~ +, N_a ~ + and Cl ~ -, NO_3 ~ -, H_2PO_4 ~ -, SO_4 ~ (-2) for one week (20 ℃, no light), and then moved to 20 ℃ 0.5 times Hoagland solution germination. The germination rate did not affect the germination rate of tomato seeds, but the germination rate of asparagus seeds increased from 85% to 90% when untreated. All of these treatments shortened the 50% germination (G_ (50)) time for both crops, but only shortened 10% to 90% of tomato seeds
