~(222)Rn及其短寿命子体是空气中天然放射性最重要的来源.大气中氡及其子体的剂量当量可以用其在空气中的浓度C;(j=0,1,2,3,4)乘以剂量当量转换因数估算.虽然空气中混合放射性核素的放射性活度可以用固体核径迹探测器来确定,但单个放射性核素的识别是困难的.如果知道裸露的探测器(D)和过滤的探测器(D_0)的径迹密度,就可有一种方法来确定氡及其子体之间的平衡因子(F)及有效剂量当量(H_E).
