褐飞虱(Nilaparvata lugens)在温带地区不能越冬,每年从热带入侵中国夏季水稻种植区。中国科学家已经发现,在秋季的后几个世代形成一系列向西南方的回迁,1988年9月间在南京农业大学实验农场(江苏省江浦县境内)使用X-band和Q-band系统两台雷达直接观测褐飞虱的长距离的迁移,证实了上述发现,并做到定量化。这种专门设计的高频雷达能监测1000m范围以内的飞虱个体以及更大范围的飞虱群体。用由一只气球携带的捕虫网对雷达监测到的昆虫群体作取样检查,发现在观测期内,褐飞虱每晚以大种群迁移,它在夜间
Nilaparvata lugens can not wintering in temperate regions and invade China’s summer paddy growing areas each year from the tropics. Chinese scientists have found that a series of migrations to the southwest have taken place in the later generations of the fall. In September 1988, two X-band and Q-band systems were used at Nanjing Agricultural University Experimental Farm (Jiangpu County, Jiangsu Province) The direct observation of the long-distance migration of the brown planthopper by the radar confirms the above findings and makes it quantifiable.
