Objective: To investigate the influencing factors of motor dysfunction in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Methods: Ninety-three PD patients were investigated. The PD Unified Rating Scale (UPDRS) was used to assess various motor dysfunctions such as tremor, myotonia, slow movements, facial expressions, language expressions, and central axis (gait and posture) impairments. Analysis of the patient’s gender, age, age of onset, duration, education, treatment and UPDRS score relevance. Results: The patient’s UPDRS score was significantly associated with cognitive level and age; tremor was related to duration. Regression analysis showed that patient age was the major factor influencing UPDRS score and axial injury. CONCLUSIONS: Axial injury symptoms in PD patients may result from the combination of normal aging and disease itself, and should be emphasized in the treatment of axial motion injuries in elderly patients.
