世界许多国家正面临着日益严重的水危机。我国也是一个水资源短缺的国家,水资源供需矛盾突出,水危机严重制约我国经济社会的发展。节约用水、高效用水是缓解水资源供需矛盾的根本途径,其核心是提高用水效率和效益。2005年4月21日颁布的《中国节水技术政策大纲》,提出争取在2005~2010年间实现农业用水量“零增长”。要实现这个目标,必须在农业节水上大做文章。如何用更少的水生产更多的粮食,提高水分生产率,是国内外专家及相关国际组织共同关注的课题。在2005年5月9~13日召开的“水稻灌区可持续发展的水管理技术国际研讨会”上,国内外专家对国际合作项目“用更少的水生产更多的粮食———提高水稻灌区水分生产率”所取得的成果进行了交流和研讨,对节水增效有了进一步的认识,对促进水稻灌区的可持续发展将起到积极的作用。会议期间本刊记者采访了该项目的主要负责人与国内外专家。
