Base strength distribution of alkalized alumina catalvsts the COS hydrolysis was measured by non-water titration method using Hammett series indicators. By using the zero acid-base strength (Homax) and the regional analytical method, it was found that the reaction of COS hydrolysis shows evidently base catalytic character. Generally, the Homax of alkalized alumina catalvsts cover the range of 7 t0 12. the base strength rclated to the greatest contnbution to COS hydrolysis is between 4.8-6.8 of Ho. value. Nonlil1ear least Sqtinre methed is cmployed to obtain the regional rate constants.
