I. Introduction Hematology plays an important role in the diagnosis of fish diseases and can be used to assess fish contamination (Me Carthy et al., 1973). The hematological parameters are closely related to the animal’s response to the environment (Haider 1970; Johansson et al., 1972). The parameters of hematology such as red blood cell count, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit volume, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and blood PH value, Varies with the age, sex, activity and physical and chemical properties of the various fish. Mahali (1972) and Ezzat et al. (1974) describe the seasonal variation of fish blood. Hematology data have been published by Hattingh (1972, 1973a, b, c), Rooney et al.
