“自由写作”是近年来国外中小学乃至大学里兴起的一种写作方法。在美国,这方面的理论家有德博拉·福克斯、查理斯·苏尔和肯·麦克罗里等人。“自由写作”的主要内容是让学生在规定时间内,对所规定的内容在没有命题的前提下进行写作,其中心就是让学生“放开写”,这多少有点类似我国的“放胆文”,只不过后者一般只适于小学低年级罢了. 这种写作方法提倡学生想写什么就写什么,不受任何传统作文框架的束缚,既可写散文、小说、说明文、议论文和报告文学,又可写诗歌。也就是可以随心所欲地写,一任思绪自由奔弛,凝注笔端,其目的在于培养并大幅度提高学生的独立写作能力。 “Liberal Writing” is a method of writing that has emerged in the middle and elementary schools and even universities in recent years.
